Matador Playlist 8/27/26

Another Thursday night in old Santa Fe town, another jumpin evening down in the deeper depths of Ye Olde Matador Bar & Lounge. Perhaps you were there, perhaps you weren’t, but whichever way points the Fickle Finger of Fate you can rest assured that DJ Inky was tucked away in his dark corner, slaving over a hot laptop to crank out the toons for the delectation of our esteemed clientele. Good, clean all-American fun for one and all.

The Matador is, was and will always be a rock & roll/punk rock bar at the core of its beating heart, but we respect and honor diversity in all of its manifestations. Unlike country mega-star Zach Bryan, Dolly Parton never drank about a million beers at the Matador, but if she had ever found her way down to the southeast corner of West San Francisco and Galisteo streets she would have been welcomed with open arms and I’m bettin she would have had a good ol time. I made sure to honor the blessed memory of dearest Dolly on Thursday night and the bar patrons seemed to appreciate the gesture. She was a true American original, beloved and respected at home and abroad in a manner which transcended all of the divisionary/diversionary tactics employed to divide us from one another. I had the opportunity to see Dolly in concert once upon a time in company of an actual rock & roll legend. Stay tuned for a forthcoming post expounding upon this singular occasion. Until then, enjoy this week’s offering enumerated below and, as always, you can access the exclusive State-O-The-Art YouTube playlist by clicking your clickable clicker right HERE.
